OmniContext™ Architecture

OmniContext™ has a distributed architecture that allows to collect data from heterogeneous environments, to process it in accordance with the logic specified by the user and to present reports in an independent mode to authorized staff members via a standard web interface.

Major parts of OmniContext™ software

OmniContext Component collects data locally or remotely, pre-processes it and sends to OmniContext™ Integration Server via e-mail. OmniContext™ Component’s work is scheduled by OmniContext™ Integration Server — the latter sends mails with job files and XML instructions for each of Component’s modules. The OmniContext™ Component installation does not require reboot and the Component is managed from the central operation console of the OmniContext™ Integration Server. The number of OmniContext™ Components per Omnicontext™ Integration Server is unlimited; therefore OmniContext™ can scale to big corporation environments counting hundreds of servers.

OmniContext™ works with the following data sources: Tracking logs of MS Exchage; Lotus Domino and most popular SMTP and web servers; Structured text files; Private and public messaging stores of MS Exchange and Lotus Domino; Databases including relational ones, Lotus Domino databases; Any LDAP compliant directories; WMI and WBEM; XML files.

OmniContext™ Integration Server is the core part of OmniContext™. It processes instructions from the user and schedules the work of OmniContext™ Components. Having received mails with data from OmniContext™ Component(s) it validates and classifies it. OmniContext™ Integration Server executes main processing operations including different stages of data consolidation. As a result, data originating from differently formatted sources gets stored in OmniContext™ SQL database. Now the processed data can be used as input to OmniContext™ Reporting Server and numerous other applications, thus making it possible to apply OmniContext™ as middleware.

OmniContext™ Reporting Server’s core functionality is dedicated to data analysis and representation. Processing XML query from user, OmniContext™ Reporting Server finds the appropriate data in the OmniContext™ Integration Server database. When necessary, OmniContext™ Reporting Server applies logic, standard or specified by user, in order to analyze information from OmniContext™ Integration Server database and to deliver highly critical indicators to authorized organization members via standard web-interface or e-mail. OmniContext™ Reporting Server chooses the right form and format (text, numerical, graphical, and topological) to present the data. It transfers data to other applications as well.
